How to pay your KIB-TEK bill, what to do as a tenant

Easiest: pay online

  1. Find the account number on your bill (without the * at the start).
  2. Enter it on the KIB-TEK online payment page.
  3. Pay by credit or debit card. The page is in Turkish, English and Russian.

Online payment may be closed between 23:00 and 05:00.

You have 30 days to pay

Each bill must be paid within 30 days. If your overdue bills add up to more than 675 TL, your electricity is cut off.

A late fee is added to late bills (according to an older KIB-TEK notice: 5% in the first 30 days, then 4% for every further 30 days).

Moving into a new home

Renting: put the electricity in your name

  • Rental contract stamped by the Inland Revenue Office (Gelir ve Vergi Dairesi)
  • Your ID card or passport and a copy
  • Receipt of the deposit paid at a KIB-TEK cash desk
  • If you are not a TRNC citizen, you need a TRNC citizen as guarantor; without one you pay 3 times the deposit.
  • You apply in person at the regional office.

If you own the home: new connection

  • A document showing the home or business is yours
  • Your ID card and a copy
  • Deposit receipt; you apply in person.

For a prepaid (card) meter, the application form is on the KIB-TEK website; fill it in and hand it to the regional office.
